3RD – 6TH GRADE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
RULES:
Iowa Boys and Girls Association Rules will apply except for following:
No 3 point shots
3rd – 4th Man to man defense only
5th and 6th grade can play zone defense
5th and 6th grade may use full court press to 15 point score difference
Certified officials will be used (3RD Grade may use volunteer officials)
Dressing rooms will not be available
All players and 2 coaches will be admitted free
Numbers are required on uniforms
Games will be 2 – 18 minute halves (continuous clock)
Clock will stop last 2 minutes of 2nd half and for timeouts or injuries
2 – 2 minute overtime periods the 3rd overtime period will be sudden death
If time allows, 5 minute warm-up and a 5 minute half time
Each team will have 2 timeouts per half and 1 timeout for each overtime period
Game ball will be provided
Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated
If you receive 3 technical fouls you will forfeit all remaining games
Concessions will be available
Medals will be awarded to 1st - 3rd place teams
Tournament sponsors, organizers, and other persons assume no responsibility for any injuries, damages or loss due to any circumstances during the tournament
