The Newton Travel Basketball Program and Newton YMCA present the Strong Kids Classic Basketball Tournament. The Tournament is for 4th & 6th grade boys. In years past our tournaments have provided a great opportunity to play in a competitive environment. Sportsmanship and fun are also an important element of our tournament.

By completing this form I hereby release the Newton YMCA and all of its officers from any liability, claims, demands or injury that may be sustained by your participation in, traveling to or from or observing the events in the Strong Kids Classic.

RulesGame Location:
• All games will be played at the Newton YMCA (1701 S. Eighth Ave. E. Newton, Iowa 50208
1) There will be two officials per game. Your cooperation with officials and scorekeepers is appreciated and expected. Coaches and parents are responsible for their players conduct on and off the court. Unacceptable behavior toward our volunteers will result in ejection from tourney.
2) A team will forfeit if not on the floor with five players within 5 minutes after scheduled start time.
3) Admission is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Preschool and younger are free. Players and two coaches are free.
4) If possible please bring balls to warm up with. If you do not have warm up balls the Newton YMCA will provide them. The game ball used is a 28.5 Spalding TF 1000.
5) We will not allow kids/fans to shoot on courts in between halves or games. Please do not dribble in the hallways at the Y.
6) Teams should bring two colors (dark and light) of shirts with numbers.
7) A concession stand will be available at the YMCA. No coolers please. Players can bring water bottles.
8) Medals will be given to the top two teams in each division.
Game Play Rules
We will play two 18 minute halves.

Clock will stop on all dead balls the last two minutes of the 2nd half if the score is within 10 points. If 11 point margin or greater the clock will run. Three minute half time. Three time-outs per team per game. Additional timeout for overtime which is two minutes running clock for first minute. 2nd overtime is sudden death. First team to score wins.
• No Zone Defenses
• Cannot press until last two minutes of 2nd half and overtimes
• 3 point shot will not be in play.

Additional Game Rules:
1) On the 7th team foul of the half we will shoot one and one and shoot 2 on the 10th team foul.
2) Players are disqualified after a 5th personal foul.
3) All technical fouls will result in 2 shots and the ball.
4) Two technical fouls will result in ejection.
5) Pool ties are broken in the following order: Head to head competition, fewest points allowed, point differential and then coin toss.
6) Tournament officials reserve the right to make changes to the rules, pools and schedule if conflicts exist as deemed necessary.
