Youth Basketball Tournament In Newton, Iowa

RegistrationContact Tom Vanderlaan at and I will send you a roster form to fill out. Will ask for coaches contact info, player names and numbers, etc.
RulesPrimary Game Locations:
� All 4th grade games will be played at the Newton YMCA, 1701 S. Eighth Ave. E. in Newton. Go to main entrance.
� All 5th and 6th grade games will be played at Berg Middle School, 1900 N. Fifth Ave E. in Newton. Go to northwest corner of school to enter.
� All 7th and 8th grade games will be played at the Newton Senior High School, 800 E. Fourth St. S. in Newton. Go to southeast entrance of school to enter. Long/tall stairwell.
1) There will be two officials per game. Your cooperation with officials and scorekeepers is appreciated and expected. Coaches and parents will be responsible for their players conduct on and off the court.Unacceptable behavior toward our volunteers will result in ejection from the tourney.
2) A team will forfeit if not on the floor with five players within 5 minutes after scheduled start time.
3) Admission will be $4 for adults and $2 for students. Preschool and younger are free. Players and two coaches will be free.
4) You will not need warm up balls. They will be furnished.
5) Teams should bring two colors (dark and light) of shirts with numbers.
6) A concession stand will be available at all sites. No coolers please. Players can bring water bottles.
7) Medals will be given to the top two teams in each division. Team trophies will be given for the top two in each grade level as well.
Game Play Rules:
Game Times will be as follows:
� 7th-8th grades: 20 minute halves
� 4th-6th grades: 16 minute halves
Clock with stop on deadballs the last 2 minutes of the second half if the score is within 10 points. If 11 point margin it will continue to run. Three minute half time. Three timeouts per team per game. Additional timeout for overtime which will be 2 minutes running clock. Second OT is sudden death(first team to score).
7th and 8th grades:
� Can press(until up 15+points)
� Can play zone defense
� 3 point shot will be in play.
4th-6th grades:
� Cannot press until the last 2 minutes of the second half and overtimes
� 3 point shot will not be in play.
Additional Game Play Rules (4th-8th):1) On the 7th team foul of half we will shoot 1 and 1 and shoot 2 on the tenth team foul.
2) Players will foul out on the fifth individual foul.
3) All technical fouls will result in 2 shots and the ball.
4) Two technical in the tournament will result in ejection.
5) Pool ties will be broken by the following order;
6) Head to head, fewest points allowed in tournament, point differential, and then coin flip.
7) Tournament officials reserve the right to make changes to the rules, pools, and schedule if conflicts exist as deemed necessary
