Culver’s Classic Basketball Tournament
Date: Saturday February 7, 2015.
Sites: 3 gyms at Newman Catholic school, Mason City, IA
Divisions: Girls: 4th, 5th, 6th grades
Boys: 4th, 5th, 6th grades
Registration: $80.00 per team. You are not entered in the tournament until we have your entry fee.
Players: Players should be from the same school district. Players may play “up†in age divisions.
Games: Each team is guaranteed 2 games – many will get 3 games.
Admission: $3.00 - Adult All Day Pass / $2.00 Youth ages 6-12 All Day Pass Children under 5 admitted free. Players and 2 coaches admitted free.
Awards: Medals awarded to first and second place teams.
Deadline: Official registration form is attached. Registration deadline is January 30th.
Rules:
• Two 15 minute halves. Clock stops on timeouts, injuries and last minute of each half (unless one team has a 15+ point lead).
• Three 30 second time-outs per game. No carry over. One time-out per team for overtime.
• Overtimes will be 2 minutes, followed by sudden death playoff.
• Teams may press the last 1 minute of each half unless up by 15 points or more.
• Shots beyond the 3 point arc will count as 3 points.
• No zone defense allowed.
• Pairings will be emailed by February 1st.
• Referees decisions are final. Please respect the officials and show good sportsmanship for the kids.

I give my permission on behalf of the players and parents, for these team members to participate in the Newman Catholic Basketball Tournament. I understand that Culver’s, Newman Catholic School, and any volunteers working at the tournament assume no responsibility for players and spectators, and do not carry insurance for the benefit of the players. Full responsibility for any medical expenses incurred as a result of participating in the tournament are assumed by the parents and/or guardians of the players. All rights against Culver’s, Newman Catholic Schools and any volunteers working the tournament are waived.

Culver’s Classic Basketball Tournament

Rules:
• Two 15 minute halves with a 3 minute halftime. Clock stops on timeouts, injuries and last minute of each half (unless one team has a 15+ point lead).
• Three 30 second time-outs per GAME. No carry over. One time-out per team for overtime.
• Overtimes will be 2 minutes, followed by sudden death playoff if still tied.
• Teams may press the last 1 minute of each half unless up by 15 points or more.
• Shots beyond the 3 point arc will count as 3 points (where available).
• No zone defense allowed. 1 warning followed by technical foul on next offense.
• The 28.5 girls ball will be used in all divisions.
• Two free throws will be awarded on the 10th team foul and shooting fouls. The ball will be awarded out of bounds on non-shooting fouls 1-9.
• Technical fouls will be two points awarded and possession of ball.
• Tournament officials have the right to alter the schedule because of conflicts, weather conditions or other problems.
• Any rules not covered here will follow boys and girls Iowa High School rules.
• The first games begin at 8am and school doors open at 7:15.
• Coaches shall remain seated except when congratulating players, calling a play or calling a timeout.
• The Newman Booster Club and school will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
